Chromium is a trace mineral that plays a key role in modulating the action of insulin as a component of the glucose tolerance factor (GTF). Chromium is also involved in the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins and fats. Chromium deficiency has been associated with several symptoms such as increased insulin demand (insulin resistance) and high blood glucose levels.
Chromium is found in many foods, including fruits such as apples, bananas and oranges, meat, fish, whole grains and some vegetables such as broccoli and peas. Jamieson Chelated Chromium is a chromium chelated with amino acids to optimize the absorption of the mineral.
