Lecithin is a phospholipid found in soy and some vegetable oils, whose main metabolic activity is to protect the functionality of cell membranes. Lecithin naturally contains phospholipids and glycolipids, choline and inositol. Phospholipids and glycolipids are important constituents of the cell membrane.
Lecithin has a positive effect on cholesterol and lipid metabolism. It is also involved in various brain functions and is useful for combating disorders caused by menopause. One softgel of Jamieson Lecithin 1200 contains 1200 mg of soy lecithin.
