The Latin term for wild aloe is Aloe Ferox. This plant is often confused with the agave and, for this reason, it is commonly thought that it belongs to the cactaceae family, whereas it actually belongs to the liliaceae family. Aloe Ferox grows in the virgin and idyllic Cape region of South Africa.

History of aloe

The therapeutic properties of aloe have been known for many hundreds of years. Already in the Bible (John 19.39), the name of Nicodemus is mentioned, who tried to save Jesus, after he was taken down from the cross, with an incalculable quantity of aloe. The apostle Thomas brought aloe from India, a plant he later made famous.

It is said that aloe restores balance between the three Doshas (Kafa, Vata and Pitta). Thanks to Ayurvedic medicine, the precious knowledge on the effects of aloe has reached us. Greeks, Romans and Phoenicians left countless advice on the preventive and curative effects of this plant.

Marco Polo, during his travels in India and China, found large expanses of aloe vera and learned to use them in oriental medicine. Aloe is considered by the Indians to be a silent healer. The Indians and other tribes base their treatments with Aloe on the lunar cycles.

When hoping to increase the effect, the rules to follow are: if the body is tired and lacking in energy (when certain substances are lacking), the juice must be taken daily from the new moon to the full moon. If you want to eliminate certain substances from the body (ulcers or a cleansing cure), the juice must be taken from the full moon to the new moon. You must then take a two-week break

The varieties of aloe

There are approximately 250 known varieties of aloe. Aloe ferox is one that possesses all the characteristics of a medicinal plant thanks to its biochemical composition . As a plant we prefer it to Aloe Vera, since it contains a high rate of complex polysaccharides (acemannans) and has three times more polysaccharides than Aloe Vera.

In fact, taken in equal quantities, Aloe Ferox contains 30 mg. of proteins (amino acids), while Aloe Vera contains only 18 mg. Aloe Ferox also contains more iron and calcium than Aloe Vera and is also more pleasant in flavour.

Important components

Polysaccharides, vitamin A, B1, B2, B6, B12, C, E, choline, biotin, folic acid and inositol. Mineral substances: iron, calcium, magnesium, manganese, zinc, potassium carbonate. Enzymes, essential fatty acids, amino acids and aloheside.

Polysaccharides

The polysaccharide content produces the most notable effect: the polysaccharides act favorably on the non-specific human immune system, thus strengthening its defenses against pathogens.

The Acemannan

Acemannan is a complex and rare polysaccharide found only in aloe, ginseng, shitake, shark cartilage powder, astragalus and eleutherococcus. Until puberty, acemannan is formed alone in the body, after which man must supplement his diet with this substance.

Acemannan strengthens the immune system by activating phagocytes, antibodies and killer cells . Furthermore, this substance facilitates the breakdown of foreign proteins, which often cause allergies in the large intestine. Regular intake of aloe juice before meals ensures your daily iron intake. The same goes for calcium, which regulates cellular metabolism and ensures the effectiveness of vitamin C thanks to its ions.

Stomach and Intestine

Reflux and heartburn are the result of gastric acid dysfunction. The result is an insufficiency of hydrochloric acid in the gastric juice and a feeling of heaviness in the left side of the stomach.

The gastrointestinal system as a whole produces an insufficient quantity of ferments (enzymes) that allow the nourishment ingested in normal times to be decomposed.

Aloe Ferox acts as a natural digestive ferment, therefore regular consumption is recommended. In case of constipation, the polysaccharides make the stool mucous without however causing diarrhea. In Switzerland, famous beauty farms use Aloe Ferox to detoxify the intestine.

Its mucous ferments detach the deposits and toxins found in the hairs and loops of the intestine. Many diseases of our civilization are due to dirty intestines, therefore the immune system is weak, 80% of our immune system resides in the intestine.

If you feel unpleasant pressure or pain in the stomach area during the first month of taking Aloe, do not suspend your treatment. Your body rids itself of toxins. These reactions disappear starting from the second month.

Bladder and Kidneys

The Dr. Filatow demonstrated that Aloe substances have a positive influence on the fibrous tissue of the kidneys. They stimulate blood circulation and activate the secretion function. Special salts contained in Aloe Ferox calm pain in case of cystitis (3 dl. of hot aloe juice to drink slowly).
