COMPONENTS
Turmeric
Perennial herbaceous plant belonging to the Zinzeraceae family, native to southern Asia, India and Indonesia. Always known for its digestive, purifying, choleretic and cholagogue abilities, turmeric has been studied worldwide in the last decade for its multiple anti-inflammatory functions.

Numerous authoritative studies highlight the activity of turmeric rhizomes on disorders of the joint, intestinal and liver systems. Curcumin is one of its most important active ingredients, it has been seen to have a key role in some enzymes capable of blocking the development of some types of cancer.

This active ingredient also gives turmeric an anti-inflammatory and analgesic action, which leads to the use of the plant by those with disorders such as arthritis and arthrosis and menstrual pain.

Also recognized as a powerful antioxidant, the plant is able to counteract the action of free radicals, responsible for the aging processes and damage to the membranes of our body's cells. Curiosity!! In India, the juice of the rhizome is used topically on the skin to relieve wounds, burns, insect bites and skin diseases

Chicory
Perennial herb with enlarged rhizome, very common in uncultivated and grassy areas, from the sea to the mountainous region, especially in meadows and fields. The use of chicory is officially approved for the treatment of disorders linked to poor digestion and for choleretic activity and cholagogue.

Thanks to its bitter active ingredients (sesquiterpene lactones), the presence of fibers and flavonoids, this plant allows you to stimulate gastric juices and intestinal transit. Some studies highlight how this plant can be used in disorders related to hypercholesterolemia thanks to the presence of soluble fibers such as inulin and the stimulation of the growth of intestinal microbial flora (in particular Bifidobacteria).

There are many vitamins and mineral salts contained in it, vitamin C, vitamin B, vitamin K and P, as well as a quantity of chicoric acid, which gives the plant its characteristic bitter flavour.

Ginger
Perennial herbaceous plant with digitate underground rhizome, native to south-east Asia and cultivated in tropical regions. The rhizome contains 1-4% essential oil and an oleoresin.

The main constituents of the essential oil are sesquiterpene hydrocarbons (responsible for the aroma). Known for its pungent flavour, ginger has been studied in recent decades for its anti-nausea and digestive characteristics.

Recent studies have confirmed various properties of this root, for example against dyspepsia: it is in fact capable of acting effectively on the entire digestive system, in cases of lack of appetite or slow and laborious digestion, flatulence, meteorism and intestinal swelling due to its carminative properties.

In popular tradition, ginger was used as an antiemetic, now numerous scientific studies have confirmed its action. 6-gingesulfonic acid inhibits gastric secretion and the formation of stress-induced lesions. For this reason, it is indicated in inflammatory states of the gastrointestinal tract.
